PRIVATE PARKVILLE OASIS

The homeowners had long wanted to move into a gated community up north to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The estate, which sits on a hill, allows the backyard and pool to be hidden among the trees. We couldn’t help but notice that it is nestled amongst the evergreens & clean stone lines, reminding us of our annual summer vacations to Colorado.
The pool is an eighteen by thirty-six-foot gunite pool with Diamond Brite plaster. The pool has six steps to ease you into the six-foot-deep pool. There are sun decks on either side of the steps for lounging if you don’t want to get your hair wet. Opposite the steps are sitting ledges in the pool if you like relaxing in the water without a nice cold drink. There are copper scupper water features in the stone planter boxes. The water tumbles out of it, which is controlled on your phone.

The concrete retaining wall and stone caps match the stone planter boxes surrounding the pool. Our design team works very hard to create cohesiveness within the oasis by using the same products throughout the project. The fence surrounding the pool has the same stone pillars with a horizontal cable railing system to allow the homeowners to enjoy as much of the landscaping as possible with an unobstructed view.

Once the hardscaping (pool & stonework) was complete, our team dove right in to complete the softscaping. We cut a swale on both sides of the home and filled them in with various sizes of Colorado cobbles and moss boulders.

They are lined with Indian Sunset edgers which match the Indian Sunset Flagstone steppers. The flower beds were planted with assorted evergreen shrubs, ornamental shrubs, perennial grasses & flowering shrubs.
We planted multiple trees to help create the natural privacy fence where their property line meets their neighbors. The trees included assorted Blue Spruce, Eastern Red Cedars, Giant Green Arborvitaes, Eastern Redbuds, Service Berry & White Flowering Crabapples.

After all the planting was completed, we installed new sod and dripped irrigation to make sure everything was getting appropriately watered.
The landscape lighting was installed using a ZD Luxor Luminaire Lighting system and includes path lights, up lights, under cap lights, two large pool lights & Glo-Brite lights for the pool steps. The LED-colored lighting is all controlled by an app on your phone!
