BACKYARD RETREAT IN PARKVILLE

BEFORE

By the Blade has been working with this family for over a decade, when they decided they were ready for a backyard refresh. They wanted to be able to enjoy nature at its finest after a long day at work. The idea of adding water and fire to their outdoor oasis had them ready to get started on this upgrade almost immediately!

DURING

The customer had an existing patio, which we extended out into a more natural round shape. Flower beds surround the custom flagstone patio to help soften the area. The custom-made By the Blade bench is placed in one of the flower beds with direct access to the firepit. The firepit has metal art logs, designed by a local artist, that add dimension to the patio year-round. The custom logs help create the illusion of a large outdoor fire with the convenience of a gas fireplace!

AFTER

The pondless waterfall cascades down through the backyard from the deck to help tie the outdoor oasis together. A pondless waterfall is undoubtedly one of the most requested projects at By the Blade. Who doesn't love the soothing sounds of water?

These waterfalls are extremely low maintenance, energy-efficient, and attract various wildlife. Children and adults alike are sure to enjoy nature in and around the waterfall. Whether you add a water feature to your front or backyard, locate it near a window to enjoy the bubbling water's delightful sounds.
